We love seeing all our Shop-Hoppers. Your enthusiasm and energy is contagious and we welcome it!

 This year we are featuring a wonderful new tool for creating the pineapple design quilt.

 

This tool eliminates paper-piecing and helps you piece stress-free. And it’s easy to use, insuring accurate piecing all the way.

Quilt historians consider the Pineapple design a variation of the Log Cabin quilts made popular in the late 19^th century.

Pineapple style quilts are great ways to use all of those scraps we so diligently save from each quilt project. Just remember, there are no ugly fabrics in scrap quilts.

Gyleen Fitzgerald, the resourceful quilter/artist behind this new and innovative tool, has a book with wonderful designs and ideas for you.

Irons, Manglers & a Quilter's Dream Iron

Back in the days of early television, you remember those days, when no one ever heard of "INFOMERCIALS"-there were commercials. Very long commercials, almost long enough to be an "INFOMERCIAL".  Now I am telling you this because a friend of ours (Lynn) found this wonderful 1946 commercial for an Ironrite Mangler. 

I love this commercial-an invitation for women to shed the drudgery of the electric or. even worse, the non-electric hand iron and make her life wonderful. 

I remember that my grandmother used an Ironrite Mangler and she took in ironing for several families in Gilbert. We did from time to time have a chance to use it and I remember how scary and amazing it was. If your mother, grandmother, aunt or neighbor had an Ironrite Mangler in her home, you will enjoy this trip down memory lane.

Hanging Quilts-Something New

I think quilters are the most innovative people! If a quilter has a problem they solve it and then they love to share it with the rest of us. Well here is a new item that needs to be shared.

How many times have you wanted to hang a quilt for display and had to deal with putting holes in the wall  or trying to repair the holes or not enough support for the weight of the quilt?

Well this may be the answer you're looking for-

 Invisible Quilt Hangers

This hanging system uses a small mounting plate attached to your wall using removable adhesive strips. Powerful, specially designed magnets securely hold your quilt to the plate via the adjustable metal rod inserted into your quilt’s rod pocket. Go ahead and hang quilts up to 20" with included rod, or use a longer rod for larger quilts. Add an additional kit to hang queen and king size quilts.  It’s easily adjustable – just slide the magnet! Remove, re-hang, or change your displayed quilt with no hassle!

The Invisible Hanger allows you to easily and securely support your quilt for display, yet it will appear to be floating very close to the wall with no means of support!
